Firstly, we are pleased to welcome Havel & Partners (based in the Czech Republic and Slovakia), Nobles Law Firm (Ukraine) and Doulah & Doulah (based in Bangladesh) to the ICLN. We are continuing to arrange virtual coffees to meet more of you and, if you would like to meet any other member firms please let us know, we are happy to help arrange introductions.
We are arranging the final ICLN event of 2021 to take place virtually on Thursday 2 December 2021 at 2pm (GMT). The topic we will discuss is foreign investment controls. The UK’s National Security and Investment Act comes into force on 4th January 2022, and a number of other countries have similar rules or are planning new rules to protect so called national interests over and above existing merger control rules. An invitation to the event will be sent out in due course.
We are hoping we will be able to organise an in person event in Spring 2022, which we would be delighted to host in London. We will continue to monitor current developments and assess whether this will be possible in early 2022.
